Why This Matters

For individuals living with diabetes, glucose monitoring devices such as continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and flash glucose monitors offer a more accurate, convenient, and proactive way to manage blood sugar levels.

“These devices give patients real-time insight into their glucose patterns, helping them avoid dangerous highs and lows, and ultimately improving their long-term health,” Cecilia shared in the interview.

Currently, access to these devices is limited for many due to cost and lack of comprehensive coverage. Expanding coverage would not only make these tools more accessible but would also support better diabetes management, reduce complications, and ease strain on the healthcare system.

Leading the Conversation

At The Nest Health Centre, we’re proud to have leaders like Cecilia who not only support patients directly but also advocate for broader change that improves health outcomes across our province.

We believe that access to advanced tools like CGMs should be a standard part of care, and we support efforts to make this possible for all Saskatchewan residents living with diabetes.
